The Family Group Decision Making process begins with the individual County’s key leaders and decision makers making a determination that a change or significant enhancement in standard delivery of practice must occur. Typically, from that point there is a notable implementation period where decisions are made regarding how the shift must occur. The parallel process that a county experiences during this change process mirrors what the families experience as they collaboratively partner with their key supports in developing and implementing their plan. The actual act of conducting a Family Group Decision Making Conference is at the end of the implementation process. A county is best served when they take the necessary time on the front end to experience the ongoing benefits.
